Skin Rejuvenation in Mississauga

As we age our skin reflects damage from the sun, the elements and wear and tear of daily life. Freckles may have their charm, but spots, dullness, uneven texture and spider veins do not, as they contribute to the obvious signs of aging.

What is Photo Rejuvenation ?

It is a skin rejuvenation treatment that was designed to combat the effects of aging and skin damage. This gentle non-ablative treatment uses broad spectrum light to treat the desired areas where sun damage shows and it addresses imperfections on your face, neck, chest and hands.

How does it work?

The system utilizes the delivery of light energy, which is translated into heat energy using a specialized hand piece with a smooth flat surface that is held against the skin. The energy is absorbed by the skin causing the increased stimulation of collagen synthesis, considerable fading of hyper-pigmentation, decrease in pore size and reductions in redness and flushing. Destruction of spider veins is often noticed immediately.

Does It hurt?

Pain tolerance is an individual matter, however, most people tolerate this treatment and describe the sensation as a rubber band snap to the skin. Most patients do not require anesthesia, but topical numbing creams are always an option.

How many treatments are needed?

While most patients see a significant improvement in 1 treatment, 3-4 treatments spaced out every 3 weeks is usually recommended for best results.

What to expect after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment the skin may appear flushed which will subside within hours. It is important to note that brown spots will appear darker, which is expected before flaking off. You'll be able to perform normal activities, though sun block should be applied as a post treatment precaution.
